Peony - In My Garden

Peony

This is the lone peony I will get from my garden this year. However, I was expecting none. I started this and another from cuttings last year, with the understanding that it would take two years before it would bloom. This was an unexpected surprise. Perhaps I should have cut it off while it was a bud, so it would put it's strength into growing roots instead of a solitary flower. I don't know much about gardening, and don't think of these things until after the fact.

I'm pleased with my single, pale pink, fragrant blossom, and look forward to many future years of many blossoms.

That is a nice little surprise....

Thanks for sharing it, especially for those of us ((me)) that can barely keep a single plant alive.

  6. Gorgeous flower that is. I so love peonies , this is the only time they flower? I don't think they'd survive a UK garden?

  8. Thanks! I love it and can't wait til next year when I get more on the bush. It's like spring around here, for some reason my garden has taken an extra month to get going this year, but my delphinium and daffodils are FINALLY blooming.
