Spring Flowers

Every year after going through a mad rush of cleaning in the spring, I treat myself to flowers... lots and lots of flowers. I fill a vase for just about every room and take it all in for a while.

When I was younger my bedroom was always a disaster area. Once on a rare occassion when I actually spent time and got it all clean, my dad brought me home a bouquet of roses for my dresser. It was motivation to keep it all clean and beautiful forever at least for a little while. When I put the flowers around the house at the end of Spring Cleaning I always think back to that.

In the last few years I've become partial to yellow flowers for the house in the spring. Yellow tulips preferably... They just seem so cheerful, which is perfect after a long winter. The flowers in my garden won't bloom for at least another 3-4 weeks, so I'm going to stop on my way home today and get myself a little treat for now.

Treat yourself to a little something special!

  1. What a great idea! I always have flowers in my house in the spring because I have kids who pick them for me all the time, but I was in the city today & thinking about bringing home cut flowers because they looked so pretty & I couldn't rationalize the cost but if my house had been spring cleaned! Now that would have been a good reason!

  2. That is so wonderful.

I'm w/ Becky68, I always have "flowers" around in the Spring too, whether they be weeds, weird grass or actual flowers, I love them the same. My boys love to bring me their finds and I love seeing the pride and love in their expression.

  3. I pick up bouquets for less than $5, so I figure it's worth it once in a while. :)
