Here are a few good sites with recipes that you can make with kids. It's never too early to let kids start experimenting in the kitchen. These sites have a mix of recipes that kids can do on their own and ones that require adult supervision, use your judgement.

WOO HOO! :)
ReplyDeleteGotta have something to keep the kiddos occupied for a while. My niece loves making peanut butter cookies with me. I think I have a picture of that at home I'll add. If I remember correctly she's in her pj's...
ReplyDeleteWe're just now to the pb&j stage, it is the only thing he can do entirely on his own, which is how my independent guy likes it. But he loves to watch me cook anything.
ReplyDeleteI'll check these out and try to find a new "it" thing for him to make.
Thanks Barbara.
If he likes pizza, english muffin pizzas are easy. :)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh had not thought of that. Good idea, and something the 9 yr old can and would want to do too.
ReplyDeleteWe used to make them all the time when we'd get home from school, and you can toast the english muffin first to get a crispy type crust before you put the toppings on and nuke it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it sounds prefect. In fact I think I'll add the stuff to my grocery list so they can make those for lunch this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI get stuck in the Mommy trap very easily, better known as a rut. I cook the same things over and over again, usually because it is something I know the boys will eat.
You have me curious to branch out and I thank you for that....
When I am limited on time I stick to what I know. I think we all "get in a rut" from time to time. Mommy or not :)
ReplyDeleteSo true. The Mommy part was my cop out - L
ReplyDeleteActually it's more frugal to be "in a rut" than to be adventurous in your cooking. Less food to possibly go bad if the kiddos don't like it. Sunday is my Pantry day this week, I'm going to whip up something vegetarian to post. Still deciding which way I want to go. I noticed my vegetables are all starchy... I eat all sorts of vegetables but I always do the same things to them so don't ever think to post them.
